The UQU College of Public Health and Health Informatics participated with the General Directorate of Health Affairs in Makkah in the forum held to raise awareness about HIV, in conjunction with the World AIDS Day. The forum was held last Wednesday at the Maternity and Children's Hospital, under the patronage of the General Director of the Directorate of Makkah Health Affairs, Dr. Wael bin Hamza Matir.
The College of Health Sciences and Health Informatics offered a number of scientific lectures, which were delivered by a selection of consultants in infectious diseases. In addition, the college participated in the educational exhibition on AIDS, under the supervision of Dr. Salah Alawna and Dr. Laila Sulaiman. The exhibition included an informational booth about the definition of AIDS, how to protect oneself from it, and how to live with it if the person is inflicted with the disease.
The General Director of the Directorate of Makkah Health Affairs, Dr. Wael bin Hamza Matir, honored the College of Public Health and Health Informatics and the organizers for their remarkable efforts, which led to the success of the forum that aimed to educate the individual and the society about the seriousness of this disease.
