President of Umm Al Qura University (UQU), Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas, has checked on presentations of the projects of the Islamic Architecture students for pre-graduation phase totaling to 90 projects. All the projects focused on health facilities and installations which provide on day surgery services. The event was attended by the Head of Islamic Architecture Department Dr. Ibrahim Bukhari, the ex-head of the department Eng. Jamil Al-Salafi and the faculty members.
The projects which were presented in the corridor of the academic hub in front of the college headquarter in Abdiya, varied in terms of shape and distribution of the service utilities for visitors and administrative department related to each building.
The UQU President listened to an elaborate presentation by the students of the Islamic architecture on their projects and the basic pillars which relied on in their architectural design. Dr. Assas hailed these projects and the role of the college of engineering represented by the department of Islamic Architecture as well as the efforts of the students in achieving such projects which are no less than the architectural designs made by the major companies and consultancy and engineering offices working in this field.
It's to be noted here that the Department of the Islamic Architecture which includes more than 360 students witnessed during the last week discussion of the students' projects from the first up to the final years.
