The President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, gave orders to find appropriate solutions for the management of sport utilities and prepare the study to run it optimally. This was during his tour of the Social Activities Building, Sports Hall and Sports Stadium Building at Abediyah Campus on Wednesday 6^th Rabi’II 1438H, while accompanied by Dr. Abdulmajeed Al-Ghamdi (UQU Vice President for Branches) and a number of UQU officials.

In his visit, Dr. Assas asserted that sport utilities were part of the community service basics and a right outlet for the energies of all UQU students and affiliates as well as their children. He clarified that such sport utilities and activities attracted visitors and refined, developed and presented their sporting skills at sporting events. 

At the end of the tour, Dr. Abdulmajeed Al-Ghamdi, UQU Vice President for Branches, said that such tour by UQU President was within his field check program of all UQU utilities, sites and branches. He stressed that the orders given by Dr. Assas concerning sport utilities were deeply rooted into all his instructions and attention with regards to UQU community.   

In the same context, Dr. Al-Ghamdi revealed that the 6920m² Indoor Sports Hall included a multi-purpose hall, training hall, athletics hall, squash hall, swimming pool and locker rooms. On the other hand, the Sports Stadium Building had a capacity of 7000 fans and included a football stadium, track, places for athletics, locker rooms and toilets.
