The Department of Mathematics, on Monday, 5 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1441 A.H., organized a scientific lecture entitled, "The Nobel Prize", under the patronage of His Excellency the Dean of Al-Leith University College, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Maliki. This lecture was presented by the academic staff members of the Department of Mathematics.

The lecture targeted all the students of the college and aimed at informing about the Nobel Prize, giving a simple historical overview about it. Lecturers tackled the importance of new discoveries in the field of chemistry, ؛ medicine, arts, and economic sciences, in which winners received this prize. They also talked about the role of these discoveries in building and developing human civilization, in general. Moreover, speakers dealt with alternative prizes and rewards in the field of mathematics. They reminded the attendants about some of those who received these prizes, and their most important achievements.

At the end, a seminar was organized by the students under the title, "Distinction in Mathematics". They tackled the manner of overcoming obstacles, exerting more efforts, and following the example of those excellent persons to achieve progress and success in their current educational development, and their practical life in the future.
