On Wednesday, Rabi’ al-awwal 22, 1438H, Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, the UQU President, signed rental contract for the building allocated to the College of Health Sciences for girls in Al-Laith governorates with the owner of the building, during his inspection visit to Al-Laith University Colleges.
After that, Dr. Assas inaugurated the building of the college after equipping it with all necessary equipment and preparing it to receive the students of Health Sciences. He also inaugurated the scientific library in Al-Laith university branch. During his visit, Dr. Assas was accompanied by Dr. Abdulmajeed Al-Ghamidi, UQU Vice President for Branches, Dr. Hamed Al-Shanbari, Dean of the University College in Al-Laith, Dr. Hashem Al-Samadani, Dean of Registration and Admission, Dr. Adel bin Ahmed Ba-Naeema, Dean of Libraries Affairs, Dr. Amr Al-Saqqaf, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Maged Al-Qathami, Dean of Information Technology, Dr. Saeed Al-Qahtani, Dean of the University College in Adhm, the deans of Al-Laith colleges, and the directors of Security and Safety Department, Operations and Maintenance Department, Urgent Projects Department, and Media and Public Relations Department.
Dr. Assas began his inspection tour by meeting the female students via video-conferencing at the meetings hall on the University College campus, in the attendance of the deans of the colleges, the secondary deanships and their vice-deans. Through this meeting, Dr. Assas listened to the inquires, remarks and needs of the students after which he urged the officials in concern to provide the students will all their needs and demands and ensure that they’re provided with the proper educational environment.
Following, Dr. Assas met the male students and faculty members at the ceremonies hall on the University College campus where a ceremony was held on this occasion. It started with Qur’anic recitation, followed by a speech for Dr. Tareq Dhafr, Dean of the College of Health Sciences in Al-Laith in which he praised the visit of the UQU President that aimed at checking on the progress of the educational and scientific services offered to the students in the governorate, and the support provided to the colleges to perform their roles efficiently. After that, a poem was recited by the student Yahya Al-Hilali.
On his part, Dr. Assas gave a speech in which he stated, “The UQU has allocated all its technical and human resources and capacities to offer the best educational services to the students, facilitate all obstacles in their educational process, and provide the environment that enables them to learn properly.” Furthermore, he praised the generous support that the UQU receives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Aal Saud, HRH the Crown Prince, and HRH the Deputy Crown Prince- Allah protect them. Also, Dr. Assas mentioned that the university branches and their colleges in Al-Laith, Al-Qunfudhah, Al-Jamoum and Adhm are distinguished by their scientific calibers and innovative, distinct youth power which confirm that the colleges are enriched with excellent deans and faculty members, and he also denoted that the current era depends on the scientific knowledge which could only be achieved through distinct researches that contribute to the enhancement of the nations and peoples.
As the ceremony came to an end, Dr. Assas replied to the queries of the students and the attendees, and then honored the distinct students and employees at the University Colleges in Al-Laith.
Eventually, the UQU President ended his visit with inspection tour to Al-Laith colleges’ campuses, and checked on the mobile clinic of the College of Health Sciences in Al- Laith.
