On Wednesday, Rabi’ al-awwal 22, 1438H, Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, UQU President, met Mr. Hamdi Yunus, Director General of the Offices of Labor and Social Development at the Ministry of Labor and Social Development. Mr. Yunus visited UQU in the companionship of Mr. Hussein Qadeer, Director General Assistant of the Ministry Branch for Social Development, Mr. Abdullah Al-Ruqi, Director of Social Security Office in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Mr. Mussa Al-Maliki, Director of Social Care Home in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Attas, Director of Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and Mr. Ahmad Al-Zahrani, Media Coordinator for Labor and Social Development Offices in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
Noteworthy, the meeting was attended by Dr. Khaled Al-Barqawi, Dean of the College of Community Service and Continuing Education.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed the ways of cooperation and establishing partnerships between the university and the ministry especially in the projects of the social field that are implemented by the ministry; represented by its branch in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
On his part, Dr. Assas praised the presented ideas and confirmed that the university is willing to cooperate in anything that would serve the society and reinforce the university’s role in the social development field. He also assured that these ideas will be activated through the Deanship of the College of Community Service and Continuing Education.
On his part, Mr. Yunus applauded the responsiveness shown by Dr. Assas and confirmed that such partnerships aim at offering services and assistance to the beneficiaries of the ministry such as, orphans, people with special needs, and social security beneficiaries, and contributing to improving the social services provided, along with developing the society at large.
