A number of students from Umm Al-Qura University donated blood, within the framework of joint cooperation between the Volunteering Club of the Vice Deanship of Student Affairs for Counseling, Guidance and Community Partnership, and King Abdullah Medical City, to initiate the program: "A Drop of Your Blood Means Life". The aim of the program is to teach the importance of blood donation, and its role in saving patients' lives.

The volunteering club official, the student Abeer Aref, stated that the club seeks to promote the culture of volunteering in various fields, including blood donation, and establishing the correct concepts about medical guidelines and warnings, in coordination with the relevant authorities. In addition, it aims to educate students on the importance of health care, and keeping track of normal rates of vitamins and the hemoglobin ratio required before donation.

The club, during the visit to the Medical City, reviewed the cooperation regarding the scheduling of monthly visits to university blood donors, and allowing the opportunity to participate in voluntary work, according to the terms and conditions of the required medical care.
