Staff members of the Department of Clinical Technology, the College of Applied Medical Sciences, participated in in the First Scientific Research Forum. The forum was well-known to be organized by the Deanship of Scientific Research on 20th -21st Rabi’I 1438H, at King Abdulaziz Historical Hall (1) for the Male Section and Al-Jawhara Hall for the Female Section. The Department also positively took part in the exhibition that accompanied the Forum at King Saud Hall, Abediyah Campus, and was generously sponsored by the President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), Dr. Bakri bin Maatooq Assas.

The Department of Clinical Technology contributed in the event with four, out of one hundred Applied Medical Sciences, scientific posters, which was considered one of the strongest participations among the colleges in the Forum.

The first session of the Forum was titled, “Successful Experiences in Scientific Research” and headed by Dr Thamer bin Hamdan Al Harbi, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. During the session, Dr. Ahmed bin Muhammad Eshi, Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, gave a speech titled, “Vision 2030.” The speech demonstrated the evolution of scientific research in the College, as well as a number of statistics that proved the development of scientific research there. This enabled the College to become one of the most significant academic foundations in the domain of scientific research. In addition to that, the College of Applied Medical Sciences had achieved a series of successive accomplishments at all levels. It had been the first college to have all its programs internationally accredited at the same time. It also had been a fundamental partner in the voluntary programs of Hajj and Umrah performers’ service in cooperation with the General Presidency for the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque.

In the same context, Dr. Ahmed bin Muhammad Eshi, Dean of the College, stressed that the development journey of the College would never end in order to raise the level of scientific research there. This would be basically achieved through the guidance of Allah, the Almighty, then via the support of the President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), Dr. Bakri bin Maatooq Assas, who paid scientific research at the College special attention in order for it, and UQU, to continue leadership in all domains.
