The Intellectual Awareness Unit at Umm Al-Qura University today launched a training course for the affiliates of the university entitled, "Cybersecurity: Concept and Mechanism of Accomplishing It", presented by Dr. Salih bin Yahya Al-Ghamdi at the training hall of the Higher Institute for Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil. The training will last for two days.
During his lecturer today, Dr. Al-Ghamdi tackled the concept of cybersecurity and its relation to psychology, and how it works to protect information and maintain its confidentiality. He also tackled the means of protection against cyber addiction on the internet, and protection through studying the behavior of individuals in the electronic space. He also dealt with the targets of cyber-psychology that target and interact with all those who use the internet, with particular attention on the categories of children and teenagers, as they are the categories that are influenced the most by cyberspace.
He pointed out that this science deals with the issues relating to individuals' psychologies, such as: identity on the internet, character patterns in the cyber world, addiction to electric devices, virtual reality, and interaction through social media.
On his part, the Head of the Intellectual Awareness Unit at Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Muhammad Al-Saeidi, indicated that this course comes within the activities and the programs of the unit for this academic year, which target the affiliates and the students of the university.
