Lecture and Exhibition on Breast Cancer Risks Held at Umm Al-Qura University (Female Section)

Dr. Hala bint Fawzi Kamil, an associate professor at the Department of Biochemistry, the College of Medicine, Umm Al-Qura University, stressed that early detection of breast cancer is necessary in order to limit its comorbidities and risks.

She said this during an awareness-raising lecture entitled "Breast Cancer: Risks and Methods of Early Detection." The lecture included an overview of the aspects, symptoms, methods of detection, diagnosis, and treatment of the disease.

The lecture was followed by an awareness-raising exhibition contributed by the College of Medicine, Female Section as part of World Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event reflects the belief in the role of awareness in limiting the risks of breast cancer.

Dr. Alaa bint Muhammad Al-Urabi, Director of Infection Control Department at Ajyad Emergency Hospital, tackled the importance of early detection of the disease, methods of prevention, and aspects of risk using art gallery paintings.

The guests responded to the event by increasing the numbers of mammogram appointments at King Abdullah Specialized Hospital in Makkah.
