The Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, Umm Al-Qura University, received the international accreditation, "Quality Seal of Accredited Courses", from Quality Matters (QM), an international accreditation organization.
The new accreditation ensures the quality standards of e-courses, according to international standards, one such e-course being the course General Chemistry I 4021101-4, which was developed electronically through the deanship, as part of the project, "E-Course Development". For over a year, the Department of Chemistry has worked with the Deanship of E-Learning towards this achievement.
It is worth mentioning that the chemistry course is taught electronically in the Department of Chemistry, in the College of Applied Sciences and the Preparatory Year, as an integrated learning mode.
After the end of the internal evaluation process, the e-course was awarded the full grade by deanship members who acted as internal audits accredited by QM, passing through the QM formal evaluation phase conducted by international audits to review the electronic course according to QM standards.
The Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education seeks international accreditation for the quality of five of its developed e-courses, which will be offered by 2020 through the integrated education system, according to international quality standards based on scientific research, best practices, peer review.
This approach is part of the deanship's plan to ensure the quality of e-courses, in accordance with the university's approach in seeking excellence in the orientation and practices of e-learning systems and the quality of teaching.
