UQU President Receives Annual Report on Public Relations and Media

Umm Al-Qura University President, His Highness Dr. Bakry bin Matuq Assass, received the annual report for 1437 H on public relations and media on Tuesday morning, 14th Rabi' al-awwal 1438H.

 The report was handed over by the Director of the Public Relations and Media Department, Khaled bin Jamil Morsi at the university president office at student hostel of Abdiya in presence of the department staff.

In the beginning of the meeting, Morsi presented an abstract on the content of the report explaining that the latter includes duties of the Public Relations and Media Department that covered about 11 thousand news items, photographs, meetings, media reports and press conferences to present the university before the external society in a manner suits position of Umm Al-Qura University.

The department seeks to provide its e-services according to instructions given by the wise government – May Allah Bless it- and follow-up and concern of highness Umm Al-Qura University President, Dr. Bakry bin Matuq Assass who is keen on rehabilitation of the department staff to pace nowadays requirements, Morsi added.

He expressed his thanks and gratitude to the department staff for their efforts.

In the same context, Assas stated this annual report comes as a step within the achievements made by this vital department which has become a pivot between the university sectors and different departments, either through its media role or the public relations with its different activities at the university campus as well as its contributions to enhancing and establishing bridges of cooperation between the university sectors from one side and other governmental and non-governmental bodies from the other side.

This comes based on the university role to perform its mission based on three pivots, namely, educational mission, scientific research and community service.

Assas stressed that it is well known that the publication relations and media department at any establishment has an important role derived from its continuous communication with all units under the same umbrella or with other community entities whether establishments or individuals.

This report, added he, shows the level that this department reached thanks to Allah and as a result of availability, by the university, of technological capabilities and supportive qualified human cadres that had an outstanding role in performing duties of the department to serve the university and scientific and educational process at this high scientific edifice.

Assass praised the role and efforts exerted by both the director and staff to achieve its mission.
