UQU Received the Approval of Oxford University as the First Institution in the ME to Offer the English Language Test

His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, President of Umm Al-Qura University, on Sunday morning, 7 Safar, 1441 A.H., at his office in Al-Abdiyyah, received the approval certificate of the "English Language Learning for Community Development Initiative" for Umm Al-Qura University being the first entity to offer the International English Language Test of Oxford University.

The approval certificate was presented to His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University by the Technical Advisor and the Representative of Oxford University Press, Mr. Zain bin Hamid.

Dr. Abdulaziz bin Rashad Suruji, the University Vice President for Educational Affairs, and Dr. Sami bin Muhammad Ghalib Atraji, the Head of the English Language Center and the Director of the English Language Learning for Community Development Initiative, attended the event.

After receiving the certificate, His Excellency the President of the University expressed his gratitude for the activities offered by the English Language Center through the English Language Learning for Community Development Initiative, and its active contribution in the educational mobility at the university.

His Excellency the President of the University previously decreed that 100 students from the medical stream at the Joint First Year to apply to enter the Oxford Test for English Language, using it as a referential criterion for educational outcomes.

The Oxford Test for English Language was held for the first time at Umm Al-Qura University through the English Language Learning for Community Development Initiative and the English Language Center on Tuesday and Wednesday, 2 and 3 Safar, 1441 A.H.
