The Team of the Accreditation Board for Engineers and Technology (ABET) finished a visit to the College of Computer Science in Al-Qunfudhah.
During the three-day visit, the team reviewed documents and records kept by the college and toured classes, laboratories and other facilities. The team held meetings with staff members and students.
Following the visit, the team held talks with Vice President for Academic Development and Community Services Dr. Hany bin Othman bin Yassin Ghazi, Vice-dean of University Development and Quality Dr. Mohamed bin Ja'far Thabet, Dean of Computer Science College in Al-Qunfudhah Dr. Yassin Al Zubaid, Advisor of Accreditation for the Development Deanship Dr. Khalid Khan and a number of top officials of the college.
The meeting reviewed a report prepared by the ABET team. It provided a list of positive points and recommendations that should be implemented to get the ABET accreditation. It extended thanks extended to UQU President for his keen support to the accreditation program.
During the talks, Dr. Ghazi said a decision would be issued in the ABET's next meeting, slated for July 2017, on the accreditation.
He hailed efforts exerted by President of Umm Al Qura University Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas, Dean of University Development and Quality, Deanship Advisory Team, Dean of Computer Science College in Al-Qunfudhah, his Vice-deans and the working team.
