Today, Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs and in cooperation with the General Administration of Museums, celebrated the eighty-ninth National Day at King Abdulaziz Historical Hall. A historical and fine art exhibition entitled, "Determination Till the End", was held on the sidelines of the celebrations. His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, the vice presidents, deans of the colleges and deanships, university employees and students attended the celebrations.
His Excellency the President of the University stated, "On the National Day, we remember the achievements and prosperity of our country in order to stand with great determination to reach the top, while feeling proud of the national capabilities and achievements that have been accomplished since the time of the founder King Abdulaziz (may Allah be merciful to him) and his successors till our flourishing era under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (may Allah protect him). King Salman managed, through his belief and reliance on Allah and then due to his wisdom, experience and farsightedness, to lead the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the level of the developed countries. The kingdom has become a pioneer in several economic, political, educational, health, cultural and urban fields."
He stressed that our beloved country celebrates, on this great day, the originality of the past, memories of its foundation, the history of its construction, the civilization of the present time, sacredness of the location and the continuity of the march throughout time, while taking into consideration, on our way to glory, the vision of the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman (may Allah protect him), the designer of the transformation, the originator of the vision, and the planner for the future for the sake of the glory of our country and the welfare of the people.
His Excellency the Vice President of the University for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdulaziz Suruji, delivered a speech in which he expressed his sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Crown Prince (may Allah protect them) on the occasion of the National Day. This is the country in which Allah bestowed His blessing of unity and made the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) a constitution for the country and the people at the hands of the Founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud (may Allah bestow His mercy on him).
The female student Halah Al Sheikh stressed in the speech she delivered on behalf of the students of the university that the spirit of loyalty was engraved in their souls. She added that gratefulness to this blessed country is a duty upon every person who was brought up in its land. She also indicated that while there are warriors who protect and preserve the borders of the country, there are also those who do their best in the field of knowledge to serve the country in order to attain a promising future.
The student at the College of Arabic Language, Faisal Al-Mudhish, recited a poem in which he expressed his love and loyalty to his country. The cerebration included an operetta entitled, "The Kingdom has Become a Lighthouse", in which several students participated. In this show, they introduced different Saudi artistic works.
The Media Center announced the winners names of the center's competition for the eighty-ninth National Day, in which the account of Muhammad Sabir Daqnah received the first position and the second position was given for Mawaddah's account.
