His Royal Highness, Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al-Faisal Al Saud, Chairman of the Equestrian Club, yesterday, Saturday, crowned the owner of "Al-Bairaq" Stable, Abdul-Rahman Al-Bwardi, with Umm Al-Qura University's Cup. The event took place in King Khalid Equestrian Square in Al-Taif governorate, in the presence of the Acting President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdul-Majeed bin Sa`id Al-Ghamdi.
His Highness, in a special interview with the media center, praised the positive role of Umm Al-Qura University in supporting Saudi sports, in general, and equestrian sports, in particular. He added, "I express thanks to Umm Al-Qura University, which always supports the equestrian sports annually. Moreover, I want to take the opportunity to call the major educational institutions to follow the example of the university in supporting this sport in all its forms, not only horse races."
Prof. Abdul-Majeed Al-Ghamdi affirmed the importance of continuing the partnership of Umm Al-Qura University with the Equestrian Club and the significance of developing the relationship between both sides during the next seasons, in order to support the community partnership with the sports sector, in general, and the equestrian sports sector, in particular. He added that the university is looking forward to exerting more effort to participate effectively in enriching the Saudi sports movement, in a manner compatible with the aspirations of the wise leadership, may Allah protect them.
