Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz (may Allah protect him), the Department of Public Relations and Media participated in the organization of the 19th Scientific Forum for Hajj and Umrah Research, in cooperation with the UQU Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research. The scientific forum was held from 29-30 Jumada Al-Thani, 1440 A.H. The ceremony was opened by the Emir of Madinah, HRH Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The dean of the institute, Dr. Sami Barahmin, said that the forum is held annually, alternately between Makkah and Madinah. It aims at highlighting the Saudi Kingdom's efforts in serving the pilgrims.
The forum was attended by a number of researchers who reviewed the latest specialized scientific studies in the field of Hajj and Umrah. Government and civil bodies also participated in the event. The Vice Dean of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research, Dr. Mazin Al-Shahrani, stated that the forum involved 6 sessions on various scientific journals and a number of posters and scientific presentations. Dr. Sami Barahmin pointed out that the most important expected outcomes of the scientific forum for Hajj and Umrah were to serve the pilgrims, and for matters to be facilitated for them by the different bodies and ministries, in line with the vision of 2030.
