His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, gave directions for a trial run for 40% of the area of the University City for Girls within 12 months, an area of about 130 thousand square meters. It includes the Colleges of Education, Designs, Computer and Information Systems, and the English Language Learning Center, as well as the northern waiting halls of the academic hub.
This came during the inspection tour by His Excellency of the University City for Girls in Al-Abdiyyah. During the tour, he was accompanied by Dr. Muhammad Al-Hazimi, the Advisor to the UQU President and General Supervisor of Project Management, officials from the departments of projects, facilities and services, and from the office of the consultant engineer, as well as representatives of the project contractors.
Furthermore, His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Abdullah Bafail, praised the support the university receives from our wise leadership (may Allah support them) for its construction facilities and its research and educational environment. He pointed out, to the project contractors, the need to implement the stages of construction in the colleges and facilities in the period specified, in accordance with the highest standards and specifications. This is to create an educational atmosphere that meets the aspirations of his female students, academic staff, and employees.
Moreover, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hazimi stated that the average completion rate of the University City for Girls in Al-Abdiyyah reached 70%, on an area of 350 thousand square meters. It includes the academic hub of 800 meters, which includes the buildings of the Colleges of Education, Applied Sciences, Arabic language, Social Sciences, Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion, Computer and Information Systems, Designs, Classrooms (A,B, C, D), the Joint First Year Deanship, the Institute of Arabic language for Non-Native Speakers, the English Language Center, and the Central Library, in addition to the General Administration building, the Grand Conference Hall, and facilities and infrastructure services.
He said, "Under the directions of His Excellency UQU President, work is underway to present the supplementary projects for the buildings of the University City for Girls in Al-Abdiyyah. They include the inner fence, main gate, road networks and external parking, as well as coverings giving protection from the rain, and the coordination of the public site and the academic arena."
