His Excellency Dr. Bakri bin Matouk Assas UQU President met with a Delegation from the American Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. During the meeting held on 10/07/1437H, 17/04/2016AD, he discussed with the delegation the mechanisms of renewing the academic accreditation program of the UQU Community College in presence of Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi, Vice-President of Academic Development and Community Service, Dr. Khalid Barqawi, Dean of Community College and Dr. Mohammed Thabit, Dean of University Development and Quality.
HE Dr. Assas said that the Community College is the first UQU college to obtain the academic accreditation program and that the renewal of the College's academic accreditation is arising from the fact that the College's programs and the services it offers to the society through its different departments are consistent with the requirements of such academic accreditation program.
Dr. Hani Ghazi explained that the renewal of the academic accreditation of the Community Colleges is based on the objectives set by the UQU to get accreditation of its programs and colleges pursuant to directions of HE Dr. Assas. He said that the performance of the UQU colleges in general and the Community College in particular are outstanding, wishing success for the academic accreditation team of the College headed by its Dean Dr. Khalid Barqawi. Dr. Ghazi added that the delegation's visit will continue three days through which the delegation will have a tour around different departments of the College and meet with teaching members and College's students. The delegation will also review the files of quality, the progress of the educational process at the Community College and the programs introduced by the College.
Dr. Khalid Barqawi, Dean of Community College said that the academic accreditation delegation's visit came to determine the requirements of the renewal of the accreditation of the programs implemented by the College for students, and to grant the academic accreditation to the Community College at Female Student Division. He pointed out that the Community College consists of four scientific departments though which it provides five diploma program. The College worked on providing all facilities, capabilities and equipment necessary for obtaining the renewal of the academic accreditation and the academic accreditation of the Community College at the Female Student Division.
Dr. Barqawi gave thanks to His Excellency Dr. Bakri bin Matouk Assas UQU President, Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi, Vice-President of Academic Development and Community Service, and Dr. Mohammed Thabit, Dean of University Development and Quality for their follow up and supervision of the progress of the renewal of the accreditation of the Community College at Female Student Division, for playing a vital role in obtaining the accreditation of the programs provided by the College to female students and for facilitating all the procedures necessary to attain this goal.
