On Wednesday 12 Sha`ban 1440 A.H., the Islamic Studies Research Center at the Deanship of Scientific Research in Umm Al-Qura University organized, in cooperation with the Saudi Society for Studies in Medical Jurisprudence, a panel discussion entitled "Integrity in Scientific Research: Medical Research as a Model." During this panel discussion, research papers were presented by His Eminence Dr. Abdul-Malik bin Muhammad Al-Sabeel, a faculty member at the College of Judicial Studies and Regulations, in which he talked about research integrity, its Shari`ah origin, and the most important jurisprudence problems and issues associated with it, and by His Excellency Dr. Anmar bin Muhammad Nasser, a faculty member at the College of Medicine, and the former Dean of the College, who discussed research integrity in medical research, and the most obvious violations of it.
The workshop included academic interventions by each of the following: His Excellency the Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Ahdal; Professor at the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies, His Eminence Prof. Isma`il Marhaba; Professor of Criminal Law at the College of Judicial Studies and Regulations, His Excellency Prof. Jalal Al-Din Bangha; Professor at the College of Islamic Economic and Financial Sciences, His Eminence Dr. Tariq `Anqawi; faculty member at the College of Medicine, His Excellency Dr. Hani Al-Mu`allim; the Deputy Head of the Islamic Studies Research Center, Her Excellency Prof. Afnan Talmisani; faculty member at the College of Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion and the Vice Dean of the Higher Institute for Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil, Her Excellency Dr. Eman Maghrabi; and faculty member at the College of Education, Her Excellency Dr. Safiyyah Bakheet.
The seminar was chaired by His Eminence Dr. Muhammad Al-Sawwat, faculty member at the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies, and the Deputy Head of the Islamic Studies Research Center at the Deanship of Scientific Research, Her Excellency Prof. Afnan Talmisani.
At the end of the panel discussion, memorial shields and certificates of appreciation were presented by the Deanship of Scientific Research and the Saudi Society for Studies in Medical Jurisprudence to both esteemed guests.
