The Director of the Initiatives Management and Vision Realization Office at Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Ehab Abdul-Raheem Malibari, declared that the Office intends to establish a qualitative databank in different educational and research fields, in line with the initiatives of the Ministry of Education to realize the goals of the vision 2030.

Dr. Malibari added that the university has distinctive and advantageous features that make it different from other universities, which are its location and status in Makkah Al-Mukarramah and what it has of diverse research institutes specializing in Hajj and Umrah, and medical, engineering, and consulting research. This is in addition to its knowledge-based economy. This took place during the workshop entitled, "Initiatives Makers", which was held on the fringe of the forum, "My University: Confident Steps Towards the Vision", which was organized by the office yesterday in the Four Points Hotel in Al-Naseem, Makkah Al-Mukarramah.

The Deputy General Supervisor of the Office, Dr. Faisal Barwais, pointed out that the workshop was conducted to qualify communication officers of different bodies and colleges to write initiatives, and also educate them about how to spread the culture of taking initiatives among the various affiliates of their organizations. He declared that they are developing some programs that aim to fulfill the vision, which include a skill development program.

Many members of the university, from the coordinators of the colleges, deanships, and administration at the university, participated in the workshop. The event also included a presentation on the role of the office in managing the strategic plans of the university, in addition to informing participants about how initiatives are derived from the programs of the Saudi Vision, as well as sustainability and self-employment, to keep in line with the Saudi Kingdom’s Vision. A detailed explanation was offered about how to apply through the office to partake in the initiatives.
