The UQU English Language Center held the first scientific forum today, Thursday, with the title, 'Challenges, Opportunities, and Empowerment', which presented a number of scientific research projects in the field of teaching and learning English. The forum took place under the patronage of the University Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Her Excellency Dr. Sarah Al-Khuli, in Al-Jafali Hall (2), at the university headquarters in Al-Zahir.

The forum presented a variety of scientific research projects which focused on successful experiences in overcoming challenges, and the empowerment of the teacher and learner. The attendees discussed the obstacles encountered in teaching English for special purposes in order to propose recommendations for the beneficiaries in this field.

Dr. Sarah Al-Khuli appreciated the services offered by the English Language Center to the different administrations and colleges. She also praised the objectives fulfilled by the center during the previous years, and confirmed that the success of the forum is considered to be one of the objectives sought by the center, which contribute to serving the university students and employees. Dr. Sarah also expressed her appreciation to the Director of the Center and the Assistant Professor, Dr. Sami Atraji, and his deputy, the Assistant Professor at the Department of English Language, Dr. Sahar Al-Zahrani, for the efficient organization of the scientific forum.
