More than 70 Researchers Participate in the Sixth Conference for Teaching and Learning Mathematics at Umm Al-Qura University

On Tuesday, His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, will inaugurate the activities of the Sixth Conference for Teaching and Learning Mathematics, organized by Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods at the College of Education. This conference will be held in cooperation with the Saudi Association for Mathematical Sciences from 19 to 21 Rajab 1440 A.H., corresponding to 26 to 28 March 2019 A.C. More than 70 researchers and specialists in mathematical sciences from inside and outside the Kingdom will participate in the conference. The conference will be attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Association for Mathematical Sciences, Dr. Ubaid bin Jafain Al-Qahtani, and the General Director of Education in Makkah, Muhammad bin Mahdi Al-Harthi.

The Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Ali bin Muslih Al-Matrifi, asserted that the College of Education, represented by the Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods, has made all the required arrangements for hosting the Sixth Conference of Teaching and Learning Mathematics. It has used all the available means to ensure the success of the three-day event. He praised the keenness and support of his Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, for the use of all the available resources at the university to achieve the desired goals of the conference. He also welcomed those participating in the conference from inside and outside the Kingdom.

Dr. Awad bin Salih Al-Malki, the Head of the Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods, pointed out that the conference will tackle all topics related to teaching and learning mathematics through ten scientific sessions. He added that there will also be five workshops, in which researchers will discuss the practical and theoretical aspects of the mathematical sciences. He also praised the role of the Saudi Association for Mathematical Sciences in this regard.
