The Fourth Meeting of International Cooperation formulated recommendations aimed at enhancing the role of the partnership of international cooperation between different universities and government sectors in order to raise the level of coordination between them and activate state development plans. The meeting was held the day before yesterday at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, under the title of "The Role of Initiatives of Government Ministries and Companies in Supporting International Conventions in Universities".
His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, stressed the need for the participation of the university in the fourth forum, especially after its active participation in the last edition. The UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani bin Uthman Ghazi, stressed the importance of continuing to develop mechanisms of international cooperation between universities to meet the needs and aspirations of the Kingdom, especially in areas of strategic priority.
Dr. Salih Ahmad, Advisor and Supervisor of the International Cooperation Unit, pointed out that the fourth forum included three main sessions that discussed cooperation between universities, ministries and government companies, and their role in realizing the vision of 2030 through initiatives and joint cooperation to support international conventions.
It is noteworthy that 24 Saudi universities participated in the meeting, in addition to representatives of the ministries of education, trade, investment, finance, communications and information technology, as well as the General Authority for Investment, SABIC, Aramco and Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI).
In addition, the delegation of Umm Al-Qura University included the Vice Dean of Scientific Research for Research Centers and Groups, Prof. Ahmad Ashiy, the Vice Dean of the Institute of Research and Consultation Studies, Dr. Yusuf Al-Utaibi, the Vice Dean of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hisham Malak, the Advisor and Supervisor of the International Cooperation Unit, Dr. Salih Ahmad, the Deputy General Supervisor of the Initiatives Management and Vision Realization Office, Dr. Faisal Barwais, the Director of the Applied Sciences Research Center at the Deanship of Scientific Research, Dr. Ali Saiqil, the Deputy Director of the Applied Sciences Research Center at the Deanship of Scientific Research, Dr. Ma`tuqah Abu Al-Naja, the Deputy Director of the Engineering Science Center at the Deanship of Scientific Research, Dr. Dunya Badawud, and the Deputy Director of the Pharmacy Center at the Deanship of Scientific Research, Dr. Alaa Al-Qahtani.
