The Narcotics Control Committee at Umm Al-Qura University held an awareness exhibition on the dangers of smoking under the slogan of "Our University Free from Smoking" at the headquarters of the Joint First Year Deanship. The exhibition was held in the presence of the Dean of the Joint First Year, Dr. Sa`d Al-Ghamdi, and the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Waheeb Al-Harbi.

The Head of the Narcotics Control Committee, Dr. Mashaal Al-Sulami, stated that the establishment of exhibitions in the university campus was motivated by their feeling of responsibility towards the students and the need to educate and enlighten them about the harmful effects of smoking. He added that a mobile clinic is permanently located at the headquarters of student activities to help students stop smoking.

Dr. Sa`d Al-Ghamdi praised the pivotal role played by the Narcotics Control Committee at Umm Al-Qura University to reduce the spread of the phenomenon of smoking within the university facilities, noting the partnership of the deanship with the committee. The exhibition is scheduled to visit all colleges as part of the awareness campaign, "Do Not Lose It".
