On behalf of the University President, Dr. Bakri ibn Ma’atuq A’asas, Dr. Yasser Soliman Shushu, the Umm Al-Qura University vice president took part in the 22nd meeting of the Committee of the Presidents and Directors of the Universities and Higher educational Institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. The meeting takes place at the Abaha-based King Khalid University from the thirtieth and Thirty first of October, 2016.
Still, the University’s Vice President, Dr. Yasser stressed on the University’s interest in periodically taking part in such a meeting. The meeting comes within the framework of discussing with the universities presidents and directors in the GCC states. This mirrors the aspirations and visions of the GCC states’ leaderships in a manner that serves the march of the higher education and scientific research in the states’ region. It also boosts the advancement of the joint work system in this field. He went on to add that the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman ibn Abdul-Aziz, about solidifying the joint gulf cooperation aspects, especially in the scientific and research fields, topped the topics tackled, as well as several topics of common interest.
Within the same context, at the end of the meeting, all participants extended sincere thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman ibn Abdul-Aziz, his Royal Highness the Heir Apparent and the Interior Minister Prince Mohammed ibn Nayf ibn Abdul-Aziz and his royal Highness Deputy Crown Prince the Minister of Defense Prince Mohammed ibn Salaman ibn Abdul-Aziz for their wholehearted support to advance the education process in general, and the higher education in particular. They also offered thanks to his Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed ibn Mohammed Ala’aisi and the President of the King Khalid University; Prof. Falah ibn Rajalah Alsalmi for hosting the meeting and generous, warm hospitality and good organization.
