On behalf of the President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas, the UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman Shoshou has participated in the 22nd meeting of the presidents and directors of the universities and higher education institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries (GCC) held in Abha in the period from Muharram 29-30, 1438 H.
Meanwhile, Dr. Yassir Shoushou highlighted the keenness of the university to regularly participate in this meeting in the framework of the discussions proceeding with the presidents and directors of the universities in the GCC Countries based on the aspirations and visions of the leaders of the council in such a manner which serves the process of the higher education and scientific research in the region, and upgrades the joint action in this field. He indicated that the vision of the Custodian of the Tow Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz regarding the consolidation of aspects of joint cooperation between the GCC Countries particularly in the scientific and research fields capped the topics discussed by the participants, in addition to other topics of mutual interest.
The participants in the meeting extended their deepest thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdul-Aziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior, and the Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense for their boundless support provided for upgrading education process in general, and the higher education in particular. They have also extended their thanks to the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Iesa, and the President of King Khalid University Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al Solamy for hosting the event and for the gracious hospitality, warm reception and perfect organization of the meeting.
