Within the earliest activities of the periodical academic meetings at the Institute of Arabic Language, the first meeting was held under the title, 'Computer Linguistics and Examples of their Applications in Learning and Teaching Languages'. It was offered by Dr. Ayman bin Ahmad Al-Mansouri. The meeting was organized by Dr. Ma'mun Al-Dali, on Tuesday, 21 Jumada Al-Thani, 1440 A.H.

The meeting was attended by a group of academic staff members at the institute, headed by His Excellency the Dean of the Institute, Dr. Hasan Bukhari, and His Excellency the Head of Department of Arabic Language Teaching, Dr. Arif Al-Usaimi. At the end of the meeting, Their Excellencies offered a memento to the presenter of the meeting, Dr. Ayman Al-Mansouri, on the occasion of his attaining a PhD degree from Leeds University, Britain.
