The Institute of Arabic Language for Non-native Speakers at Umm Al-Qura University held the coordinating meeting for language planning in the Two Holy Mosques, in cooperation with King Abdullah International Center for Arabic Language and in participation with the relevant governmental bodies, in King Faisal Historical Hall at the University campus at Al-Abdiyyah.
The Dean of the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers, Dr. Hasan Bukhari, pointed out the outstanding role that the institute has played in spreading the Arabic language and teaching it to non-native speakers. He asserted the importance of language planning for the Two Holy Mosques and the concerted efforts among the bodies participating in offering services to pilgrims. He also praised the efforts of those participating in the meeting from different governmental sectors.
The General Secretary of King Abdullah Center for Arabic Language, Dr. Abdullah Al-Washmi, talked about the efforts of the center in representing the Arabic language on an international level. He indicated the importance of the meeting that contributes to promoting the Arabic language, and pointed out that the programs of the center are offered in a variety of scientific and coordinating tracks to support the spread of the Arabic language on a large scale. He pointed out that this is the responsibility of everyone, as Arabic is the language of the Glorious Qur'an of which all of us are proud.
Participants from all relevant bodies contributed their visions, suggestions, initiatives, and roles in the future work.
