On Sunday 19 Jumada Al-Thani, 1440 A.H., the Vice Deanship of the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies for Training and Community Service held the opening of Al-Taj Wal Ikleel [Crown and Diadem] Week at Jafali Hall 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the presence of more than 200 female students. The opening event included a workshop entitled "A Mother to Be Proud of" conducted by Ms. Khadijah Abu Al-Rish, a faculty member at the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies. The workshop involved much interaction with the attendees and a narrative entitled "Self-Reckoning" presented by the students of the Department of Shari`ah.
The event concluded with a workshop entitled "The Legacy of Muslim Women in Al-Andalus" conducted by Dr. Iman Al-Usaimi, a faculty member at the Department of History and graduate students from the Department of History, in the presence of a number of faculty members and students.
At the end of the event, the Vice Dean of the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies for Training and Community Service commended the organizers and expressed her wishes for them to carry on with their distinguished service, wishing them continued success and accomplishments. The organizers were awarded certificates of appreciation for their commendable efforts.
