President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri bin M'tooq bin Bakri Assas presided over the meeting of the Deanship of the Postgraduate Studies Council on Wednesday Muharram 4th, 1438 H at the Deanship's meeting hall in Abdyia campus. The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Postgraduate Studies Prof. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Firaih and the male and female Vice Deans of the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies. 

In the onset of the session, Dr. Assas greeted the male and female members of the council and extended his congratulation them on the occasion of the commencement of the Hijri year. He prayed to Allah to prevail goodness and peace all over the world in general and the holy place Makkah where our noble university is based in particular.  

 
"Thanks to Allah in the first place and then to the Leader of this country the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and our wise government  for the care and interest they show to the education institutions particularly our noble university", he expounded. Further, he extended his thanks to the Dean of Postgraduate Studies and praised him for his disciplined and précised attitude and his loyalty to the work, the things which resulted in turn in effecting many positive changes in the deanship. He also lauded the efforts exerted by the vice deans and their roles in this regard, and pointed out to the importance of adherence to rules and regulations organizing the educational process in the Deanship.

He also urged them to control the admission process to the postgraduate studies programs on condition that the graduates and holders of the higher certificates are going to represent Umm Al-Qura university in the future so they must be eligible for such honor from the beginning.

     
Concluding his speech, he prayed to Allah to crown the endeavors of the affiliates of the deanship with success to the goodness and glory of this university and to perpetuate the grace of security, stability and prosperity for our dear country under its wise leadership.

For his part, the Dean of Postgraduate Studies Prof. Al-Firaih extended his thanks to the President for his honorable presence in the meeting and wished him to repeat his visits. "The achievements and successes of the Deanship would not come to light short of the support attached to it by the top leadership of the university", he indicated.  

Further, he pledged to manage the postgraduate studies programs in terms of planning, organization and development in accordance with the rules and regulations stipulated in this regard to serve
