College of Health Sciences in Al-Qunfudhah Holds a Ceremony Honoring Outstanding Students in the Presence of the UQU President

The College of Health Sciences in Al-Qunfudhah and the other UQU colleges at Al-Qunfudhah campus held a ceremony honoring outstanding students from the Colleges of Health Sciences, Medicine, Engineering, Computer Science, and Al-Qunfudhah University College. The ceremony was held on Tuesday, 19 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H., corresponding to 27 November 2018 A.C., under the auspices of His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, who honored 70 outstanding students from al theoretical and scientific disciplines. The ceremony was held under the supervision of His Excellency Prof. Omar bin Abdullah Al-Hazzazi, the Dean of the College of Health Sciences in Al-Qunfudhah.

The ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Governor of Al-Qunfudhah, Fada Al-Baqmi; the Education Administrator in Al-Qunfidhah, Dr. Muhammad Al-Zahimi; a number of officials and vice-presidents; the deans and vice-deans of the colleges; the heads of the departments; and the students' parents. The ceremony took place in the Celebration Hall at Al-Qunfudhah University College.

The ceremony started with a Qur'anic recitation, followed by a speech delivered by the Dean of the College of Health Sciences, Prof. Omar bin Abdullah Al-Hazzazi, in which he praised the care given by His Excellency the UQU President to this ceremony due to the university's keenness to honor its outstanding students. The university is also eager to encourage them to exert continued effort throughout their educational journey, thereby encouraging other students to work hard and strive for excellence and prominence.

Prof. Al-Hazzazi added that they witnessed on that day a great educational gesture, represented in the honoring of a cherished group of students, the elite of the outstanding students. Moreover, he indicated that the UQU President's keenness to honor these students is in line with the "Be Happy" initiative. Prof. Al-Hazzazi also asserted that the UQU President's attendance at the ceremony is the clearest proof of his eagerness to make the students happy, and to urge them to work hard for the sake of building their precious country. He drew attention to the fact that some people fail to honor outstanding students despite its importance, and dedicate most of their time to supporting less successful students. After the speech, the attendees listened to a poem entitled "Narqa Al-Ula Amalan" [We Reach High Status by Hard Work], which was composed and delivered by His Excellency Dr. Yahya bin Muzhir Al-Zahrani.

Later, the attendees watched a presentation about the different colleges and departments of Al-Qunfudhah Campus, then Omar Al-Sheiki delivered a speech on behalf of the outstanding male students, and Halimah Al-Abdali delivered a speech on behalf of the outstanding female students.

Afterwards, His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail thanked and expressed appreciation for the supervisors of this wonderful ceremony held to honor the outstanding students of Al-Qunfudhah campus. He also asserted that the university puts its students first.

His Excellency Prof. Omar Bafail praised the support and guidance given by the wise leadership (may Allah safeguard it) to the university. He also expressed appreciation for the supervision and guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Province, and his Deputy, for the attention they give to the creation of a flourishing educational environment at the university.

The outstanding students were honored by His Excellency the UQU President and His Excellency the supervisor of the ceremony, amidst the students' great joy, appreciation, and satisfaction for this gesture which filled them with happiness.
