Tourism Department students at the College of Business Administration at Umm Al-Qura University visited a group of male and female secondary schools in the Holy City of Makkah. These visits were held under the auspices of the Dean of the College, Prof. Ihsan Al-Mu`taz, and the supervision of the Head of the Department, Dr. Ali Al-Qasim. The visits were planned in accordance with the leading role of Umm Al-Qura University in serving the community, and its diligent effort to participate in the society to achieve the vision of the Kingdom of 2030.
The Head of the Department, Dr. Ali Al-Qasim, pointed out that the visits aimed at informing and enlightening students in the third year in these schools about the importance of tourism and the hotel sector, and the role of this sector in achieving the vision of the Kingdom of 2030, as well as the job opportunities that this sector will provide for them in the near future. Students were informed about the role of Umm Al-Qura University in developing human resources that the sector needs, which is represented in the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management. The visits elicited great involvement on the part of the secondary school students.
His Excellency Dr. Al-Qasim indicated that the Department aimed at diversifying their activities and programs throughout the year. He praised the care and support of his Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, and the supervision of his Excellency the Dean of the College, Prof. Ihsan bin Salih Al-Mu`taz, of all the activities of the Department.
