The President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) has honored 740 outstanding students from all scientific and theoretical majors of Al-Qunfudhah University College. The ceremony was organized by the College of Health Sciences in the presence of the Mayor of Al-Qunfudhah, Mr. Fadha Al-Boqamy; Director of Al-Qunfudhah Education Office, Dr. Muhammad Al-Zahmy; several officials; UQU vice presidents; college deans; and parents of the students in the celebrations hall of Al-Qunfudhah University College. 

The ceremony began with a Quranic recitation, followed by a speech from the Dean of Al-Qunfudhah Health Sciences College, Dr. Omar Hazzazy, who extended his thanks and appreciation to the UQU President for his keenness to honor the outstanding students and motivate them to continue their efforts to be role models for other students in achieving success and excellence. "It's a wonderful gesture to honor the outstanding students who are very dear to our hearts," he explained.  He added that the keenness of the UQU president and vice presidents to attend this event is part of the university’s "Be Happy" initiative and that honoring outstanding students is an important thing that is often overlooked.

After that, the audience watched a visual presentation about the different colleges and departments of Al-Qunfudhah University College, followed by a poem, which was appreciated by the audience.

Then, Abdullah Al-Shaikhaly and Halima Al-Abdaly delivered speeches on behalf of the outstanding students.    
Mr. Fadha Al-Boqamy said the presence of the honorable UQU President at this ceremony is evidence of the attention paid to the students at the university branch in Al-Qunfudhah and its other branches. He then praised this scientific achievement, which is in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. 

In his speech, Prof. Bafail extended his thanks to those in charge of this wonderful initiative of honoring the outstanding students, who deserve admiration and praise. He added that his participation in this blessed day is to celebrate the great achievements of these students, who are the pillars of the future and the investment of the nation for a bright future. "We will continue our efforts in the university to make the ‘Student First’ slogan a tangible reality and realized goal, not just an empty one. I congratulate you, my students, and urge you to become noble ambassadors of your university in all fields.  The country is waiting for you to build and develop the future as scientists, physicians, and engineers," he said.

He then expressed his appreciation for the support provided to the university by the wise leadership and the supervision and guidance of the Advisor to the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, the Emir of Makkah, HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal and the Deputy Emir of Makkah, HRH Prince Abdullah bin Bandar to create a fruitful educational environment. After that, the UQU President honored the outstanding students.
