On Tuesday Rabi` Al-Awwal 5, 1440 A.H., in conjunction with Global Entrepreneurship Week, the UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khloy, launched the Future Entrepreneurs Forum at the female section. The forum was organized by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute under the supervision of Dr. Najwa bin Hussein Samarqandy. It was attended by a number of vice deans of the colleges and institutes and a group of faculty members and students.
The aim of the forum is to spread a culture of entrepreneurship to support the knowledge economy by conducting activities and events to develop skills in all fields of entrepreneurship and prepare those interested in this area.
Dr. Al-Kholy commented on the importance of the forum in boosting the university's role in consolidating a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship and adopting innovative ideas and promising entrepreneurship projects.
She explained that the forum is an annual initiative seeking to achieve the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030 and turn ideas into a tangible reality.
The forum ran for three days and included discussion panels with the college vice deans and academic staff to exchange ideas and expertise related to entrepreneurship and explain their contribution and entrepreneurship projects designed to serve the community in general and the university in particular.
On the sidelines of the forum, several training courses were held, including one entitled ‘Choosing an Innovative Idea’. In addition, an 'Innovation Challenge’ competition was held, which stimulated many innovative ideas amongst the students.
