President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri Ma'tooq bin Bakri Assas inaugurated the symposium of (The Research Process at Umm Al-Qura University.. a Productive Journey) on the occasion of the 86th National Day celebrations of the Kingdom unification organized by the UQU Vice-Presidency for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research represented by the Deanship of Scientific Research at King Abdul-Aziz support hall . The symposium was attended by the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi, UQU Vice President for Business and Innovation, Dr. Nabil Abdul-Qadir Koshak, UQU Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service, Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi, Dean of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Researches, who serves also as the Dean of Scientific Research. Dr. Faisal bin Ahmed Al-Alaf, Dean of Postgraduate Studies Dr. Saleh Al-Firiah, Vice Deans and a number of Researchers.
After initiating the ceremony with a Quranic recitation, Dr. Assas delivered address lauding the generous support attached by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the scientific research in Saudi Universities as general and Umm Al-Qura University in particular. Such support, he said is meant to enhance researchers to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030 in the field of the knowledge economy. He also lauded the different institutes, deanships and research centers of the university for increasing the momentum of the distinctive research during the last years, wishing them all innovation and excellence in the research field.
The Symposium was run by the Vice Dean of Scientific Research for Research Chairs, Dr. Abdul-Wahab Al-Resini and was attended by the research deanships and institutes in Umm Al-Qura University.
During the symposium, the participants reviewed efforts and achievements of their relevant departments in this regards and their significant contribution to the research process in the university in such manner that achieves its mission in the scientific research. They extended their sincere thanks and appreciation to the wise leadership for its continuous support which help boosting values of loyalty to the nation.
The participants reviewed some of their research presentations. In this regard, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Ahdal made a presentation on the research centers at Umm Al-Qura University.. future aspirations, Dr. Ahmed Qadi from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research made a presentation on Hajj and Umrah services in the Saudi Vision 2030, whilst Dr. Maisoon Al-Binyan presented work paper on "Promising Investment and Ambitious Nation. Then the Dean of the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Dr. Wadei Barqawi made a presentation on "Building the creative identity and the inspiring environment for innovation and entrepreneurship", followed by the Dean of Library Affairs Dr. Adanan Al-Shereif who briefed the audience on the role of the Deanship of Library Affairs in supporting scientific research. The symposium concluded with a presentation made by the Dean of the Consulting Research and Studies Institute, Dr. Ali Al-Shaari on the role of the institute in building the knowledge-based economy in line with the Kingdom Vision 2030.
After that, the audience started to submit their views and discussions up to the conclusion of the symposium.
