Umm Al-Qura University participated in the 23rd Algiers International Book Fair, which concluded on 3 November 2018, as part of the pavilion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Vice Dean of Scientific Research for Research Chairs, Dr. Ahmad bin Muhammad Ashy, headed the university's delegation, which also included the director of the Manuscripts and Revival of Islamic Heritage Institute, Mr. Hasan Muhammad Shawish.
The exhibition was attended by the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Algeria, Dr. Fahd Al-Ghamdy, and the representative of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Saud Al-Dhubay`an. The exhibition included several intellectual and scientific publications, including books in various fields related to Shari`ah science and the Arabic language, as well as publications of scientific journals, research centers, and research chairs.
The members of the delegation appreciate the enthusiasm of UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, to participate in such international scientific forums, which contribute to highlighting the university's scientific contribution and its publication at the international level. They also praised the UQU Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harby, for his continuous follow-up of the work of the Standing Committee of Exhibitions.
