His Excellency the UQU President Inaugurates the Scouting Camp Organized by the Scout Groups

His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, has inaugurated the scouting camp organized by the scout groups for the academic year 1439/1440 A.H. at the University City in Al-Abdiyyah. The inauguration was attended by the Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Surujy, and the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Amr bin Taha Al-Saqqaf.

As soon as His Excellency reached the scouting camp, he inspected the camp's facilities, which include a training hall, a media center, a permanent exhibition, and a theater. He praised the efforts exerted by the University's scout group, and touched on the importance of their role and activities, besides the humanitarian and voluntary services they offer to the society. He also praised their contributions to the services provided to the guests of Allah during Ramadan and Hajj seasons, wishing them success in serving their religion and nation.

On his part, the Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Surujy, clarified that scouting plays an important role in developing the students' skills via the work they carry out and the activities held during the students' spare time, wishing them good luck and success.

In the same vein, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Amr Al-Saqqaf, clarified that the Deanship of Student Affairs seeks to offer various programs and activities to the club teams. He also pointed out that the scout groups fulfill important voluntary roles within their community work pertaining to serving the pilgrims and Mu`tamirs.

The Scouts Leader, Muhammad Al-Ahmady, delivered a message on this year's scouting programs, and the humanitarian and voluntary services they offer. The attendees then watched two theatrical performances prepared by the scouting students, which pleased the audience.

At the conclusion of the event, His Excellency the UQU President honored the scouting students.
