The Umm Al-Qura University will celebrate honoring Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq Assas, its former President, on Wednesday evening Safar 1, 1440H, at King Abdul-Aziz Historical Hall at the University Campus in Abdyia. It will be attended by Dr. Abdullah bin Omar BaFail, the UQU’s current President, Vice Presidents and Affiliates.

Dr. BaFail highlighted that this celebration is a part of the University’s commemoration for its leaders and fulfillment to what was exerted for its sake. He lauded the efforts of Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq Assas during the period he was on board, in which he worked on promoting the educational process and its administrative and research environment. He then pointed that it is now his duty to continue the development efforts with a strategic plan that comes in line with the National Transformation Plan 2020 and Kingdom Vision 2030, through the support of the wise leadership and support of Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa, the Minister of Education, for the UQU different activities and programs.
