Dr. Abdullah bin Omar Bafeel, President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), launched the “Second Edition of UQU Visual Identity” and “Secure Print Department”, on Sunday, 29 Dhu al-Hijjah 1439 AH, in the presence of UQU vice-presidents; Dr. Saeed Al-Harthy, dean of the Postgraduate Deanship; Dr. Khaled Al-Thaqfi, vice-dean of the Admission and Registration Deanship; Fahd Al-Sharif, director of UQU Printing House; and head of technical departments in the printing house, at UQU President office in Al-Abediya campus.

Dr. Bafeel, also, reviewed the contents of the visual identity in its second edition, which included many components inspired by the university in form and content. He also listened to a detailed explanation from the director of the printing house about the Secure Print Department and its role in how to save and document information.

He praised what he saw from the systematic study carried out by UQU Printing House, which resulted in this distinctive identity, in addition to the contents of the Secure Print Department, which will contribute to the preservation of the University's academic rights as well as the security of information, lauding the staff of the house and the progress they achieved.

In turn, Dr. Yasser bin Sulaiman Shusho, UQU vice-president, supported the interest of UQU President, his directives and inauguration of the University's visual identity, which has the most accurate detail that shows the university's heritage and excellence. He pointed out that the developmental steps that the printing house is working on are in keeping with the progress achieved by the University in various fields.

For his part, Fahad Al-Sharif said that the identity in the second issue is based on four things: the architectural drawing of the university portal (academic axis) and (special color), which is manufactured according to special standards, as well as (quadratic divisions) representing the main gate, and finally the three letters (UQU). He pointed out that the Secure Print Department is considered an important shift in the printing house because it owns the electronic security marking program.  He added that the graduation document will include more than 7 security signs such as thermal, acoustic, and watermarks, security barcodes. In addition to that, the printing house has counterfeit documents detectors. Al-Sharif, also, elaborated that this section will produce, in Allah’s willing, academic papers, secret letters and contract papers. He thanked the UQU President and Vice-President for their support and interest in the printing house and its entire related works.
