The Deanship of Scientific Research received His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Talal bin Muhammad Abul-Noor, General Supervisor of the Project for Venerating the Sacred City, on Thursday, Muharram 10, 1440 AH. This is within the context of the Deanship’s pursuit of building research partnerships with national entities for an integration of efforts in order to attain the best results that can fulfill the Saudi Vision 2030.
Dr. Abul-Noor was received by His Excellency Dr. Abdul-Rahman bin Ghaleb Al-Ahdal, Dean of Scientific Research, in the presence of His Eminence Prof. Abdul-Wahhab bin Abdullah Al-Resini, Vice Dean for Academic Chairs; His Excellency Prof. Ahmad bin Muhammad Ashi, Vice Dean for Research Groups and Centers Affairs; Her Excellency Dr. Hanadi bint Muhammad Behairi, Vice Dean for Development and Quality; Her Excellency Dr. Haifaa bint Othman Feda, Advisor to the University’s Vice President for Female Students Affairs and Deputy Director of the Arabic Language and Literature Research Center; Her Excellency Prof. Afnan bint Muhammad Telmesani, Deputy Director of the Islamic Studies Research Center; His Excellency Mr. Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad Maimani, Director of the Coordination and Follow-Up Department at the Project for Venerating the Sacred City; Her Excellency Ms. Manal bint Abdullah Al-Jabri, Director of Hajar Program, a program affiliated with the Project for Venerating the Sacred City.
In the beginning of the meeting, the Dean of Scientific Research welcomed Dr. Abul-Noor. Then came the discussion of the aspects of cooperation in science and research between the Deanship of Scientific Research as well as the research centers affiliated with it and the Project for Venerating the Sacred City. Such aspects of cooperation are directed to the service of Makkah, the Sacred City; the people of Makkah; and the visitors of the Kaaba, the Sanctified House of God.
The Dean showed the Deanship’s readiness for a scientific and research cooperation with the Project for Venerating the Sacred City that would achieve the objectives of the Deanship and the Project in giving more prominence to the leading and pioneering role of Makkah. Meanwhile, Dr. Abul-Noor expressed his happiness that the Project for Venerating the Sacred City had the opportunity to meet with the leadership of the Deanship of Scientific Research to explore the aspects of scientific and research cooperation that would serve this blessed land which had been chosen by God for the message of the last of prophets, Muhammad – peace and blessings be upon him – and to enhance this through the great scientific cadres affiliated with the University.
Dr. Abul-Noor further expressed his deepest appreciation and gratitude to the Dean for giving the Project this opportunity to present its research aspirations to which they hope for adoption by Umm Al-Qura University through the Deanship of Scientific Research and its affiliate research centers. Moreover, he expressed his special thanks to the Islamic Studies Research Center that coordinated this meeting for exchanging thoughts and visions for such cooperation.
In addition, Prof. Abdul-Wahhab Al-Resini, Vice Dean for Academic Chairs, provided a brief idea about the concept of academic chairs and the privileges of submitting research, studies, and research projects through them.
Afterward, both parties investigated the methods and mechanisms for enhancing cooperation between the Deanship and the Project in producing research studies focusing on the environment of Makkah and related aspects.
