UQU President Receives Delegation of Malaysian Petronas University

The President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail received at his office at the university campus in Abdyia the delegation of the Malaysian Petronas University including; the University's Vice President for Research and Innovation Prof. Mohamed Shaheer Leo, the Director General of Technology Transfer Dr. Mohamed Siazo, the Director of Pollution Management Institute Dr. Azmi Mohamed Sharif, the Director of Transportation Structure Institute Dr. Abdul-Rasheed Abdulaziz, the Director of Sustainable Buildings Institute Prof. Noor Amela Wan Zawawi, the Professor of Petrol Engineering Dr. Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Rayes and the Executive Secretary in the Technology Transfer Office Khairail Samdi Ismail. Present in the meeting were the Dean of Scientific Research Dr. Abdul-Rahman Khalid Al-Ahdal, the Vice Dean of Scientific Research for Research Centers and Groups Dr. Ahmed A'shi and the Vice Dean of Scientific Research for Information Dr. Abdullah Baz.    

 

At the commencement of the meeting, the UQU President welcomed the visiting delegation and wished them a fruitful and outstanding visit. Then, the two sides discussed aspects of cooperation at a number of research and scientific fields with a number of medical, engineering, applied sciences and research institutes such as the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute and the cooperation with Makkah Company.

 

For its part, the Malaysian delegation said that UQU is distinguished by its highly qualified teaching and scientific cadres in all specialties and fields expressing happiness for the potentials and equipment they have seen in the university and extended their thanks to UQU President for the warm welcome. Then, Prof. Bafail honored the delegation of the Malaysian Petronas University and received a memorial gift from the visiting delegation.  

 

The delegation of the Malaysian Petronas University also met with a number of deans of the colleges in the specializations corresponding to those of the colleges of Petronas University. The two sides discussed the aspects of cooperation in the research, academic and entrepreneurship fields between them.  

 

The Malaysian delegation also visited Wadi Makkah Company and was received by the CEO of Wadi Makah Dr. Faisal Al-Alaf and a number of the company's affiliates. The two sides discussed the cooperation means between them.

 

Wrapping up the visit, the two sides exchanged the memorial gifts.
