The UQU President Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail headed the first session of the university's scientific council for the academic year 1439/1440 H held at the university's campus in Azizia today Tuesday Muharram 1, 1440 H, in the presence of the UQU Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi, the Secretary General of the Council and the members of the council. 

At the commencement of the meeting, the UQU President Prof. Bafail extended his thanks to the members of the council for their efforts exerted to serve the scientific council adding that the council is reckoned the most important one in the University for its Effort in settling many academic proceedings, developing educational process in the university and organizing the academic affairs of the faculty members and people of similar status. He stressed the keenness of the council in applying all standards in promoting the faculty members in line with the rules and regulations and based on the principle of the equality for all. 

After that, the council discussed several topics on the agenda of the first session.
