UQU President Congratulates Saudi Leadership on Successful Hajj

Dr. Abdullah bin Omar BaFail, Umm Al-Qura University’s President, has sent greetings over the successful organization of Hajj season for 1439H to King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince and Minister of Defense; and Abdulaziz bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of the Interior and Chairman of the Higher Committee of Hajj. He also congratulated Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Advisor of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, current Governor of Makkah Province and the Head of the Hajj Central Committee; Prince Abdullah bin Bandar, the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region; Prince Faisal bin Salman, the Head of Hajj Committee in Madinah; and his deputy Prince Saud bin Kahled bin Faisal. The President praised efforts exerted during Hajj this year, 1439H, as pilgrims have safely observed the rites amid a system of improved services offered by a number of governmental and civil bodies, under the patronage of the wise leadership.

He added that the success of this season was attributed to the scientific plans implemented by the cooperation of the bodies related to Hajj system. He highlighted that UQU participated by more than 10,000 leaders, cadres and students who participated in different activities on different levels. Moreover, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah has monitored the services offered by the government which were estimated by 42 studies and programs of action and they were all implemented in all the fields that are related to the Hajj system, including the environment and health; administrative and humanitarian; and construction and engineering studies, in addition to the technical and media research, which predicts any obstacles that might face the pilgrims while performing their rituals. 
Dr. BaFail pinpointed that the most prominent study provided by the University was the integrated catering system initiative for pilgrims; the application of the environment-friendly Green Hajj Camp; the control of waste management and recycling; and the intensive care for public health within the camp. In addition to several other studies related to reception at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport in Madinah. He added that there were studies of performance indicators for utilities and services provided to the pilgrims.
The UQU President noted that the University has qualified 3,000 students from the medical colleges with rehabilitation programs that are consistent with the assigned duties to them during the Hajj season, in addition to the academic programs they were given as a apart from their education. They were also assigned to work in the the cadres system for the hospitals and health centers in Makkah and holy places. He then added that 80 rangers distributed over 6 scout teams participated in the season, noting that the UQU participation is a part of its community responsibility to contribute to serving the pilgrims. He praised the efforts of all the researchers and students who participated from the university, wishing them luck and success.
