HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdul Aziz, Consultant of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Mecca Province and Chief of the Development Authority of Mecca and the Holy Sites, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research (CTHMIHR). CTHMIHR was represented by the University President and supervisor of the Institute, Prof. Bakry bin Maatouq Assas. The agreement was signed during the launch celebration of startups center in the University headquarters in Al-Abidiah.

The event was attended by Prof. Hesham Al-Faleh, Vice Governor of Mecca Province for Development, Secretary General of the Development Authority and the Mecca Governor Consultant; as well as University Deputies; the Dean of CTHMIHR, Prof. Atef Hussein Asghar; the Speaker of the Development Authority, Eng. Galal Kaaki and a number of officials.

The cooperation agreement covers different services including studies; advisory, technical, administrative and legal research; revision and development of plans and training programs carried out by the Development Authority; and creating benchmarks for the services provided. The agreement also includes providing consultants and specialized professionals for reviewing the projects supervised by the Authority as well as designing and developing scientific statistical procedures based on scientific foundation, in addition to cooperation in the use of modern technologies to gain information and analyze and update data.

Following the signing of the agreement, the University President, Prof. Bakry bin Maatouq Assas said that this agreement is driven by the great attention paid by HRH Governor of Mecca Province for the development of the Authority work and programs to cope with the aspirations of our wise leadership, and be in line with the developmental plans supervised by HRH, Prince Khaled Al Faisal, may God protect him, in this precious part of our country (Holly Mecca). The CTHMIHR dedicates all its scientific and human capabilities and potentials for serving the country driven by its mission and vision, he confirmed.

Prof. Hesham Al-Faleh, Vice Governor of Mecca Province for Development and Secretary General of the Development Authority, said that this agreement signed by HRH Prince Khaled Al-Faisal aims at establishing developmental cooperation between the Authority and the Institute. HRH recently instructed the Authority board to use the services of CTHMIHR and all competent developmental authorities in Mecca, he confirmed.

“We are pleased to sign this cooperation agreement that will boost the developmental efforts of the Authority. We look forward to being more productive and creative through partnerships and agreements with different sectors,” he added. Al- Faleh also expressed his gratitude to HRH Prince Khaled Al-Faisal for his support for the development sector in Mecca Province and to the University President, Prof. Bakry bin Maatouq Assas, for his cooperation and dedicated work.

From his part, CTHMIHR Dean, Prof. Atef bin Hussein Asghar, confirmed that the Institute works as part of a full-fledged system that the University has heartily dedicated, to assume its scientific, research and advisory role to serve visitors of the Holy Mosque. This agreement signed by HRH, he added, greatly serve the developmental projects witnessed by Mecca Province in general and the Holy Sites in specific. He prayed God to crown these efforts with success and to fulfill the aspirations and hopes of the leaders of our blessed lands.
