During his inauguration of Startups Center in Mecca Valley, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Mecca Region, witnessed two contracts between Makkah Techno Valley Company owned by Umm al-Qura University, Ministry of Hajj and Secretariat of the Holy Makkah Municipality.
The First Contract was entered into by Ministry of Hajj represented by HE Minister of Hajj Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Al Hajjar and Makkah Techno Valley Company represented by HE Chairman of Makkah Techno Valley Company. The contract involved development and operation of smart devices applications project.
The Second Contract was entered into by Makkah Techno Valley Company represented by its Chairman Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Al-Assas and Holy Makkah Municipality represented by Mayor of Makkah Dr. Osama bin Fadel Al Baz. This contract involved the project of development of smart containers in Al Iskan District in Mecca.
After signing the contracts, HE Bandar bin Al Hajjar Minister of Hajj expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation of H.R.H Prince Khalid Al Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Mecca Region and Head of Central Hajj Committee for his continued interest and follow-up of all the services carried out by Ministry of Hajj for comfort and luxury of guests of Allah (pilgrims).
HE Bandar bin Al Hajjar said that H.R.H Prince Khalid's inauguration of the Startups Center at Makkah Valley and his honorable presence during the execution of the contract between Ministry of Hajj and Makkah Techo Valley Company for developing and operating the Ministry's smart devices applications project signaled his continued interest in advancement of the services provided by the Ministry.
Dr. Al Hajjar added that the contract signed between his Ministry and Makkah Techno Valley Company owned by Umm al-Qura University signaled cooperation among different governmental sectors. He also praised the achievements made by Umm al-Qura University in the field of technical innovation and technology transfer.
HE Dr. Osama bin Fadel Al Baz, Mayor of Mecca expressed his pleasure with the contract entered into by Holy Makkah Municipality and Makkah Techno Valley Company and witnessed by H.R.H Prince Khalid Al Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Holy Mecca concerning development of the smart containers project in Al Iskan District in Mecca. Dr. Al Baz deemed the achievements made by Umm al-Qura University in this field are a source of pride and encouragement for relevant authorities to support and reinforce such national projects.
HE UQU President Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Al-Assas, Chairman of Makkah Techno Valley Company affirmed that such two operational contracts between his Company and each of Ministry of Hajj and Holy Makkah Municipality signals a significant leap achieved by Umm al-Qura University thanks to Allah. Dr. Bakr bin M'atoog appreciated the generous support the University receives from the rulers, May Allah Grant them Success. He commended the interest and follow-up on part of H.R.H Prince Khalid Al Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Mecca Region, adding that H.R.H presence in such ceremony signals his care and support for Umm al-Qura University. Dr. M'atoog also appreciated the efforts made by Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Issa to advance such edifice in order to become one of the leading universities around the world. He reiterated that this step taken by executing such contracts will help achieve the strategy adopted by the University designed to build the cognitive economy.
Dr. Nabeel Koshak, Vice President of University for Business and Knowledge Creativity and Deputy Chairman of Makkah Techno Valley Company praised the efforts made by the University under supervision and guidance of HE Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Al-Assas, that have enabled it to attain such blessed rank it deserves. Dr. Koshak pointed out that these contracts came within the plans set by Umm al-Qura University and designed to make the University one of the leading universities around the world through its national role and effective participation built on scientific experience and innovative and creative capabilities of the youth.

He pointed out that the two contracts signed with Ministry of Hajj and Holy Makkah Municipality and that Makkah Techno Valley Company is reaping the fruits of its plans designed for manufacturing and producing knowledge technology.
