President of Umm Al-Qura University Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail discussed on Thursday Dhul-Qe'dah 6, 1439 H with the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Abdul-Fattah bin Suleiman Mashatt aspects of cooperation between the University and the Ministry. This came during his visit to the headquarters of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Makkah accompanied by the Dean of Consulting Research and Studies Dr. Ali bin Mohamed Al-Shaari, Dean of Custodian of Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research Dr. Sami Barhamain, CEO of Wadi Makkah Company Dr. Faisal bin Ahmed Al-Alaf, the Supervisor of the Legal Department Dr. Hamdan Al-Ghamdi and a number of officials.
At the beginning of the meeting, aspects of cooperation between the two sides in the fields of Hajj and Umrah were reviewed. They also discussed cooperation in the National Transformation Program 2020 and the Kingdom Vision 2030 through the Pilgrims Service Program. The Deputy Minister of Hajj also listened to an elaborate presentation about the Saudi Startups Forum organized recently by the University represented by Wadi Makkah Company besides the workshops held in the fields of technology and entrepreneurship and the panel discussions made in investment related aspects.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mashatt stressed readiness of the Ministry to increase research and scientific cooperation with Umm Al-Qura University to serve the pilgrims. He underlined the importance of such forums to support the Kingdom's orientation towards research and development in the scientific and administrative fields to move forward to achieving the Kingdom Vision 2030, wishing all success and progress to the University and those in charge of it.
For his part, the UQU President Prof. Bafail praised the significant role undertaken by the Ministry of Hajj in serving pilgrims and harnessing all capacities for them from their arrival until their departure from the Kingdom. He welcomed the cooperation with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in all research and scientific fields for the sake of serving the pilgrims.
