Dr. Abdullah bin Omar BaFail, the President of UQU, the President of Umm Al-Qura University, met Mr. Hisham bin Mohamed Kaaki, the Chairman of Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Bassam Abdul Razeq Waaz Aldin, the member in the board; Ibrahim bin Foad Bardiesy, the Secretary General of the Chamber; and the Public Relations and Media team at the Chamber. The meeting took place on Sunday, Shawwal 17, 1439H, at the meeting’s hall at his excellency’s office in the University City in Al-Abediya.

At the commencement of the meeting, Dr. BaFail welcomed the Chairman of Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the accompanying delegation, and reviewed the scientific and research of Umm Al-Qura University through its research centers and scientific institutes, including the highly experienced cadres of the university. The President also showcased the UQU role in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship, through Wadi Makkah Company for Technologies, in addition to the scientific studies offered by the University that are related to Hajj and Umrah through the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah. 

He then welcomed the cooperation with Makkah Chamber in the scientific, research, training and innovation and entrepreneurship fields, through building effective partnerships in line with the Kingdom Vision 2030 and in a way that achieve aspirations for serving our beloved country. He pointed to the importance of a continuous relation between the University and the Chamber and holding a regular meeting that gathers all the officials from both sides.

Moreover, the Chairman of the Chamber lauded the leading role of the University, adding that this visit is a part of activating the cooperation and partnerships between the University and the Chamber and benefiting from the experiences of the university on a broader way to participate with the Chamber in its fields to serve the society and state. He then thanked the UQU President for the warm welcome and hospitality. 

After that, the Chamber’s Chairman presented a souvenir to the UQU President, who received another one from the Chamber’s member. In return, Dr. BaFail gave souvenirs to the Chairman and the accompanying delegation.
