The UQU President Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail sponsored the graduation ceremony of the 3rd Batch of the Holders of Hisbah Diploma including 87 students carried out by the Higher Institute of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice for the members of the General Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice. The graduation ceremony which took place at King Abdul-Aziz Historical Hall in Abdyia was attended by the President of the General Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Dr. Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah Al-Sanad, the Institute's Dean Dr. Yassir bin Ali Al-Qahtani, Deans of the Colleges and a number of officials.
After initiating the ceremony with Quranic recitation, the Dean of the Higher Institute for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Dr. Yassir bin Ali Al-Qahtani delivered speech in which he said: since its establishment, the Institute has kept on providing quality academic programs to authenticate the rituals of promotion of virtue and prevention of vice and the relevant scientific issues. He indicated that the institute's training program provided qualification of the members of the General Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in this regard to upgrade their capacities, hone their skills and provide them with the necessary knowledge.
He further said the Institute endeavors to achieve total quality in all its programs to comply with the directives of the Ministry of Education in line with the National Transformation Plan 2020 and the Kingdom Vision 2030. He then praised the support provided by the UQU President Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail to the different programs of the Institute. He also praised the keenness of the President of the General Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Dr. Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah Al-Sanad in taking the advantage of the programs provided by the Institute.
Then, the audience watched a visual presentation about the institute's achievements and partners of success. He was then followed by student Abdullah bin Al-Abbas Al-Hakami who delivered the graduates speech saying that the higher diploma program is reckoned a qualitative leap for the students for providing them with necessary skills stressing that they have become ready to perform the mission and objectives of the General Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.
Within the same vein, the UQU President Prof. Bafail delivered a speech in which he lauded the attention paid by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz and the Heir Apparent to science and learning in our country in general and Umm Al-Qura University in particular. He also lauded the keenness of the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal and the Deputy Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Abdullah bin Bandar in the different activities and programs of the university praising also the support of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa.
He explained that this celebration comes to graduate a constellation of Mohtaseben after obtaining higher diploma degree in Hisbah in light of the development of Hisbah concept to include all fields related to sharia implementation matters and all that which have benefit for nation and citizens to ward off corruptions and bring benefits for citizens and community. He pointed out that one of the most significant pillars on which this country was founded is the adherence to Quran and the tradition of the Prophet (peace be upon him) besides giving the necessary attention to the rituals of the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice and assigning a governmental body to take the responsibility in this regard.
He added that on job education and training is one of the most important features of the ambitious institutions indicating that the university partnership with the commission is a clear example of such a thing and come as an endeavor to assist the commission to achieve its mission and objectives.
For his part, the General Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Dr. Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah Al-Sanad lauded in his speech the support provided by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince to the Commission affirming that it has become necessary for members of the General Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice to enroll in a one-year diploma including all the necessary specialties which help the commission member to do his work in the most convenient manner possible. He added that this program is one of the programs intended to promote the performance of the members of the Commission.
He added that those completed the Diploma are aware of 80% of the commission's work requirements compared to others. Before enrolling in the diploma he said, the member of the commission must obtain the bachelor of sharia with a very good degree to join the field work. "An agreement was inked to conduct assessment tests for the members of the commission in the necessary skills and knowledge before giving them field work license" he expounded.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the UQU President and the President of the General Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice honored the outstanding students and the two parties exchanged the memorial gifts.
