UQU Vice-President Inspects Preparatory Year Classes

Vice-President for Educational Affairs Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Al-Srouji on Wednesday, Zul Qaadah 14, 1437H, inspected study chambers and laboratories of the Deanship of the Preparatory Year in Al-Abdiyah to follow up preparation for the new year 1437/1438H.

He was accompanied by Dean of the Preparatory Year Sa'd bin Saeed Al Ghamdi, Vice-Dean Dr. Ahmed bin Bakr Khoshaim, Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs Dr. Khaled Al Mutairi and Vice-Dean for Branches Dr. Wahib bin Dakhilullah Al Harby.

During a meeting after the tour, Dr. Al-Srouji asserted that the visit is part of directives issued by President of Umm Al Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas to support the deanship and help it creates a favorable environment for education for its students and staff to positively improve the educational outputs.

The meeting took up latest measures adopted in preparation for the new year by setting up the class tables and equipping the laboratories with the necessary tools at every campus and branch of the university (Al-Abidiyah, Shasha, Al-Leith and Al-Qunfudah).

In this context, Dr. Al Ghamdi said the deanship planned a number of academic events that mirror distinguished partnership with colleges. The agenda includes an induction week's events "the newcomers meeting" which is organized in cooperation with the Student Affairs Deanship. In coordination wit the English Language Center, a general placement English test would be made for the preparatory year's students who sum up to 4,000. In addition, a session of the training program titled the "Confident steps" would be held in cooperation with the College of Community Service and Continuing Education. In Shasha and Al-Abidiyah campuses, an event titled "Success and launch for a promising tomorrow" would be held to make students familiar with the rules and activities carried out by the deanship in particular and the UQU's department in general.

Dr. Al Ghamdi said the Deanship of Preparatory Year receives great deal of support from UQU President and keen follow-up by Dr. Al-Srouji who helped the deanship's leaders to adopt developmental and creative initiatives that pushed students to achieve best scientific and professional experience in light of their capabilities. He said the deanship's employees assume their responsibility to serve their students.
